Purpose: Amendment of the Aliens and Immigration Law to achieve harmonisation with Directive 2021/1883 of the European Parliament, regarding the entry and residence conditions for third-country nationals employed in highly specialised fields (Blue Card).

Purpose: Extension of the maternity leave to twenty two (22) consecutive weeks and allowance for the birth, adoption, or surrogacy of a first child and the extension of maternity leave and allowance in cases of infant hospitalisation.

Purpose: Abolishment of the annual €350 levy for all registered companies in the Registry of the Department of Registrar of Companies and Intellectual Property.

Purpose: achieve climate neutrality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, which is considered scientifically necessary to prevent dangerous climate change.

Purpose: Reduction of the daily fine for any person that does not comply with reporting obligations regarding the beneficial ownership of legal entities and trusts, as they arise under the provisions of articles 61A, 61B and 61C of the law, from a hundred (€100) to thirty (€30) euro.

Purpose: lift banking secrecy for information provided to state authorities for tax, duty and other collection purposes.

Purpose: Restriction for persons that are involved in the trade of goods or the provision of services to collect or make payments in cash only up to the amount of €10,000.

Purpose: harmonisation with Directive (EU) 2021/2167 on credit managers and credit purchasers, setting a common European framework for Non-Performing Loans (NPLs). By extension, the set of laws will form the new framework for the sale and management of credit facilities (performing and not performing) which will be transferred from the date the new framework is passed and thereafter.

The aim of the above bills are:
1. Expansion of the eligibility period for parental leave allowance from a child’s age of 8 to 15 years.
2. Gradual increase in parental leave allowance weeks: From 8 to 10 weeks for the second child; From 8 to 12 weeks for the third child; From 8 to 14 weeks for the fourth and subsequent children.
3. Extension of the working parent’s right to take parental leave until the child’s fifteenth year of age instead of the eighth.
4. Increase in childbirth allowance: €1,000 for the first child; €1,500 for the second child; €2,000 for the third child; €2,500 for the fourth and subsequent children. This increase applies to children born on or after October 1, 2024.

Purpose: Employers must register essential employment terms for all employees in the “ERGANI” information system.
